KRIPA SHAH (Founding Member)
IP Optometrist, Social Media Content Creator, Advocate for Personal Growth to accelerate Professional Growth
With 25 years experience within optics, working from the shopfloor to a qualified optometrist within many capacities – as a locum, resident, lead and in hospital, I have always been passionate about proactively managing and treating eye conditions and in improving the efficiency of primary/eye care services and with enhancing the patient journey.
I am a charismatic, tech savvy individual who is enthusiastic about clinical optometry and in providing personalised care focussing on connection and communication with patients. I have clinical interests in dry eye disease (DED) and medical retina and have upskilled in those areas.
Most of all, I thrive on interactive learning amongst peers as part of my professional development and I am very keen on the development of leadership qualities, improving workplace culture and collaborating with others to fortify a positive wellbeing in the profession.

One of my most memorable experiences in my career to date was participating in a charity organised trip to Malawi in 2007 with a large multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. It was humbling to see the kindness of the people that came from afar for their healthcare. They deeply valued the care they received and it was gratifying seeing a group of ‘mamas’ sing a traditional song in rejoice after having a cataract extraction.

The combination of my interests in tech, music (I have a musical background) and in developing a positive and empowered mindset has led to me creating social media content on LinkedIn in an authentic way as means for promoting personal growth and creating connection within optometry and beyond.
I am the creator of Ophthalmology Countdown Conundrum posts to encourage fun and interaction and my Feel Good Friday posts are designed to spread positivity, convey hope and reignite motivation within the profession - just like I did within myself.
My role as the social media content creator for CaMiO is this:
From the C-suite to the High Street, everyone at some point in their life requires a mentor or a coach to guide them.
We are unique at CaMiO as individually we are part of the UK’s Optical Industry and we have qualified coaches and mentors amongst us whom recognise and understand our roles, the professions and the industry.
CaMiO has been borne from a unique ensemble of individuals from all parts of the UK Optical Industry coming together for a common goal: to provide leadership coaching, team training, improve workplace culture and wellbeing for the profession, encourage personal growth and much more. Overall, the aim of CaMiO is to bring out the very best version of you.
