JASON SEARLE (Founding Member)
Optometrist, Author and Founder of The Eye Care Advocate
I operate with a diverse portfolio career that sits at the intersection of clinical practice, professional education, and digital advocacy. While I continue to work as a locum optometrist and an Associate Lecturer supporting clinical skills development, my primary focus has shifted toward bridging the gap between textbook theory and the messy reality of practice.

I am the author of "History and Symptoms: The Eye Examination" and the founder of The Eye Care Advocate. I helped establish this community specifically to support Early Career Optometrists (ECOs) as they navigate the initial years of the profession. My goal is to provide a supportive network that raises awareness of professional "blind spots" - highlighting the crucial areas of growth and understanding that aren't found on any university training schedule.

My approach to this community, and to life, is guided by a strong, empathetic, and highly strategic moral compass. I believe deeply in personal autonomy and fairness. When faced with a problem, I analyse it for its core components to find a constructive path forward that respects boundaries and affirms the dignity of the individual. I don't judge; I build.

I am driven by a desire to make the world a better place, one small action at a time. This curiosity extends to the natural world as well - I have a deep fascination with severe weather, having spent four seasons in the USA chasing supercells and tornadoes to understand the forces of nature up close.
